How To Make An Origami Chinese Lucky Star

Chinese Lucky Stars:
1. Start out with a strip of paper, 11" X 1/2"

2. Then take one end of the strip of paper and tie it into a knot (under then over)

3. Crease it so it's flat and neat

4.  Fold the short tail of paper into the knot. If the tail extends beyond the knot then fold or snip a little off the end

5. Fold the long tail over the knot and towards the opposite side and repeat this process until there is only a short tail left

 6. Fold that small tail over. If it goes beyond the opposite side just snip some off the end until it fits

 7. Fold that tail into the flap directly under it

 8. You should now have a pentagon shaped "button". Take the pentagon between your thumb and index finger at the side edges. Push gently with your thumbnail into the center of one edge until it puffs up a bit. Repeat this with each side until you have a comleted star

Congratulations! You have made a Chinese Lucky Star!
Now go crazy and make a bunch! :D
